OUR ORGAINIZATION:

We our a non-profit organization managed by a Board of Directors comprised of nine members representing the insurance industry, banking sector, Trinidad and Tobago Pentecostal Church of God, Managing Director, a Nephrologist and an official from the Ministry of Health.

Our major sponsor is the Trinidad and Tobago Pentecostal Church of God and their Affiliates from abroad.

OUR OBJECTIVES:

Our objectives include a holistic approach to renal care, for the effective control, prevention, monitoring, treatment and transplantation of renal patients and their families.

Our primary objective is to provide renal care to persons living with Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) and End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), and in particular, to nationals who cannot afford such treatment.

The establishment of a Dialysis Unit as well as support facilities and programs – Laboratory, Counseling, Mini-Theatre, Renal Persons Registry, Training Programs and Community-Based Programs, etc.

It is envisaged that two hundred and seventy (270) renal patients can receive hemodialysis treatment, including the accommodation for children - with special care, persons living with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis B. There are presently more then 1,500 persons in Trinidad & Tobago seeking Hemodialysis Treatment that are unable to access it.

OUR MISSION:

Our mission is to heighten the awareness of nationals and to provide holistic care to persons living with renal failure, and in particular, those persons who cannot afford it financially or access such programs or treatment.

The Renal Care Centre of Trinidad and Tobago is dedicated to building long-term relationships with ALL its stakeholders through quality training, adoption of new techniques and methodologies, research and development information links as we continue to maintain high standards of care.

OUR GOALS:

Short Term

  • Private Sector Participation

  • Additional International Aid

  • Forming Strategic Alliance - Healthcare Care Providers, Pharmaceutical Companies etc.

  • Renal Registry (National) - in collaboration with the Ministry of Health

  • Mechanisms (networking with other Institutions) for Monitoring of Persons Living with CRF and ESRD

  • Develop and Implement Strategies for the Prevention, Control, Monitoring and Treatment of Renal Disease

  • Forming Affiliates (Local) - Caribbean Food Nutrition Institute (CFNI), Diabetes Association, Lupus Society, Heart Association etc.

Long Term

  • Adequate Facilities (including Satellite Units) for Providing Dialysis Treatment

  • Establishment of an Organ Transplant Unit with Recovery Accommodation - Working with the Relevant Agencies to Develop the Infrastructure for the Cadaver Harvesting Program

  • Establishment of a Research Unit

  • Establish an International Training Centre for Professional and Technical Support Staff.

  • Refurbishing Dialysis Chairs
  • Other Necessary Support Equipment
  • Consumable Supplies
  • Grounds Maintenance
